Supplier Quality Engineer

Major and Responsibilities :

• Liaise with internal customers to ensure effective problem resolution

• Develop metrics and report

• Identify supplier non-conformance trends

• Track supplier quality performance measurements for strategic suppliers

• Support supplier quality management programs such as supplier selection and certification.

• Manage, issue, track and trend all audit corrective actions

• Manage, track and trend all supplier corrective actions initiated by Operations

• Work with internal customers in support of supplier certification activities, including skip-lot, product source and reduced inspection requirements.

• Conduct First Article inspection and qualification.

• Lead supplier visits and supplier audits

• Lead and participate in supplier development projects and continuous improvement activities focusing on supplier quality.

• Supervises and/or conducts quality control reviews at established inspection points. Verifies and maintains quality control records. Recruits, trains and supports quality personnel to assure effective and competent performance of quality function.

• Participates in the review of all design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation to assure conformance to quality control standards. This can include review of drawings, specification sheets, production procedures, testing and inspection standards, vendor inspections and customer contract specifications.

• Enforce MRB and quarantine procedures for rejection of in-process, finished product and component receiving inspection areas.

• Prepares and reviews complaint (quality) trends for internal and external. Reports serious, repeated failures or unreliability in quality of products. Recommends corrective actions or plans/programs for overall defect reductions in products.

• Performs other activities as per superior request.

• To comply and take lead in all ISO related activities

Minimum Qualification / Experience Skill Requirements :

• Recognized Technical Diploma/Degree

• 3 + years experience in Supplier Management with focus on quality and/or 3+ years experience in related field preferred.

• Applied knowledge of selected supplier programs, must be familiar with critical to quality aspects of PCBAs and plastic housings, desirable (but not required) to be familiar with critical to quality aspects of cells.

• English skills must be sufficient to communicate with US counterparts

• Mandarin skills must be sufficient to communicate with Supplier.

• Must be willing to travel to Asian suppliers on an as needed basis

• Demonstrated experience with advanced quality auditing/engineering and corrective/preventative action

• Applied knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes is preferred

• Demonstrated ability to understand technical drawings and Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T)

• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and accomplish work with minimal supervision

• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-aced, deadline-driven environment

• Demonstrated understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and experience implementing SPC or similar controls

• Knowledge of ISO9001,ISO14001 and ISO 13485 standards and supplier auditing skills.
